What not to do for art projects:

* Sculpture: a room full of sea urchin looking things made out of metal spikes. Painful and tiresome for the maker and an eyesore for the viewers.
* Photography: proclaim in class out of desperate improvisation that you're gonna investigate the railtracks behind your house and follow them. Thus resembling trainspotter in appearance, getting lost in some gigantic rail yard, risk getting run over by trains and into drunks, plus tumbling down weedy slopes in hope of returning to recognisable stretch of civilisation.

Finally!

Lush, my favourite favourite freshly-handmade-organic-environmentally-friendly-yummy-smelling beauty store is coming to Boston. Yay. No more manic stocking up in London.
Watch my wallet burn with irrepressible bulk purchasing of bath bombs, chocolatey massage bars and other self-indulgent, bod-pampering phenomena... cos cleanliness is next to godliness ;D

Woohoo. Going to NYC nx weekend for my photo class fieldtrip. All expenses paid for (or re-imbursed). I love my education.

Anti Friendster:

Ha! Fakester. 'cos I'm a loser babe with imaginary friends. [via I could be Madonna]

Finally.... a shoe that combines my love for trainers and my cow print fetish. *drum rolls* Adidas Mei Cow Print

Am so very sad. I've never wanted a job so badly, never been told I'm perfect for the job. Then I didn't get it, for all the wrong reasons unbeknownst to me.

what I could have been working on: a Frank Gehry x General Motors concept car project. =(

Green fingers?

Just got meself some plants online to cheer self up cos of a) cough; b) parental neglect; c) reward for self for not accidentally commiting suicide in metal shop.

what I got? Chocolate flowers (hee...they're supposed to smell like choccies with they bloom ^o^), Nutmeg scented Geranium and Maraschino Cherry Salvia. If I'm any good at pot-plant-gardening I'll have a lovely smelling room.

CY's east-meets-west bronchitisy-coughs-no-more potion: (courtesy of Yao & James)

* Nin Jiom Herbal Cough syrup 京 都 念 慈 菴 川 貝 枇 杷 膏- looove this stuff... it tastes good even when you've lost all sense of smell from that stuffy nose. Gosh they have a trendy new packaging for Westerners?! *curses*
* Vicks Nyquill
* Chuan Bei 川 貝 powder
* V8 (140% of daily vit. C intake! good for getting rid of that nasty bitter Chuan Bei aftertaste too =P)
* OJ or Lemon juice with hot water and honey
* Hall's cough drops

Fusion food just doesn't work for me most of the time.... let's hope this homemade prescription is nothing like its culinary counterpart.

Finally took swim test after putting it off for the past four years. The first time I've ever swum at school. Turns out I only needed to swim an easy-peasy 100m. But of course it's only natural that I'd be spotted by less-than-close acquaintences when I'm in my most vulnerable, unconcealed swimsuit-clad pear-shaped self. Maybe I should go swim a bit more....
and must resist inate urge to fill giangantic fridge up with edibles whenever I visit the supermarket.

Listening to Orange Pekoe to relish the last days of vague summer warmth. Reminds me of those really big and watery Japanese fruit jellies for some reason ;d

Avoiding all possible sources of news today. Sorry but I just don't feel patriotic about any country. Am product of colonial rule.

do something that scares you once a day...

like climbing out of an 8th floor window onto scaffolding at the Gehry-designed Stata Center, separated from 8 floors of thin air by a plank of wood. All in the name of art (or rather, slapdash last minute attempt at photo assignment)

Nothing like a good bit of sweaty palms to make sure you still have a pulse and lust for life.
---------------------------------------------

Something about the novelty of being able to start living as a functional adult (ie. the prospect of cooking for oneself) is making me oogle wild-eyed everytime I pop into the supermarket 2 mins away from my dorm. Bad for wallet and bad for waistline. Not that I had one to start with, but that's beside the point.

oh it can't be a good sign when the school creperie, aka my canteen, discontues my fav choice of caffeine. EarlGreyer, what would I do without your almond+chai+whipped cream aroma?? *o*;

Fuckityfuckityfuck.

Bad luck seems to be coming in bouts. Just as I'm trying to pick up the pieces of my so-called-life (read frozen bank account, credit card bills, suspended cell phone, degree list application, swim test, writing requirements, incomplete subjects, retrieve boxes in storage, find lost parcel from Amsterdam) my computer gets hit by the Welchia worm, a nasty variant of Blaster.

this i got in my inbox from the er, MIT Network Security team:

On September 1 at about 9:45 PM EDT, this system was sending TCP SYN packets on port 135 to thousands of IP addresses outside MIT. Typically, port-scan activity of this type occurs when intruders have compromised an MIT system, and are using it to try to identify systems elsewhere that can be compromised via an RPC protocol. The systems that can be compromised are usually ones that are running Windows 2000 or Windows XP and are not up-to-date on RPC patches...

like, you talkin english to me?
